Three Walks in Scotland to Enjoy this Winter

Winter is not a time when we would traditionally want to be out and about, but not only is it good for the body, but it also offers us the chance to see things differently – the different seasons, the wildlife and the changing landscape, a winters walk can really lift the spirits and give us a glimpse into a different world.

The best place to head to for winter walks of course is Scotland. Make your base somewhere like Largs – there are plenty of things to do in Largs besides walking as well https://www.localthingstodo.co.uk/locations/things-to-do-in-largs/  so you can really make a holiday of it.

Here are some of the best walks to enjoy in the winter in Scotland…

The Isle of Cumbrae – This beautiful walk is accessible from the ferry taken from Largs. Walking across picturesque farmland, you will see some special sights on the walk across the island including Britain’s smallest cathedral, the Cathedral of the Isles in Millport.

Eglinton Country Park – If you have brought the family with you, then this is a great place to go and enjoy the outdoors. With plenty of places to explore and for the kids to use up energy, there are even some castle ruins there, as well as beautiful woodlands and a loch.
