Where to go on a British family holiday

It can feel almost impossible to find somewhere in the UK that will be able to entertain and keep the kids happy for a family holiday. You need somewhere that provides budget-friendly activities and attractions whilst also having escapes that will accommodate adults too!

The Isle of Wight is a small, picturesque island just off the south coast of England and is an abyss of nature that is suitable for children and will be enjoyed by parents too. Accessible via a short ferry ride from Southampton, you have a handful of stunning beaches and scenic walks which are littered with local cafes and small shops. They also have a small zoo on the island too which makes for the perfect day out.

This can be a great way to encourage your children to adventure into water sports, especially if you live in a city.

If trekking down to the coast seems too far and you want somewhere to visit for a long weekend, why not go to Bath? A great way to get the family stuck into activities on holiday is by booking a resort, meaning you have limitless options on your doorstep without the stress of food and drink that comes with a holiday house. There are plenty of local things to do in Minehead, and it is home to the largest and most impressive Butlins resort in the UK. A Butlins stay includes access to their swimming pool, fairground, and their exclusive shows each night, directly neighbouring a stunning coastline – the best of both worlds!

The Cotswolds, as an area of outstanding natural beauty, is a location where you will not need to splash the cash. Everything about the scenery and activities is incorporated into the nature and quaint villages here, perfect for a family holiday whatever the weather. The Cotswolds has attractions such as Birdland Park, Westonbirt Arboretum and Cattle Country Adventure Park, ranging from animal visits to mini golf and nature trails. This is a good place for younger children, the peaceful atmosphere creating the perfect haven for family bonding time.
